…The old “Meier-Hause“ located at Eppenreuther Weg 11 is a 100year old cottage with its own particular history.

It was built in 1914 at the beginning of the Great War during chaotic times.

Immediately after completion the ownership changed – a sad consequence of troubled times.

Finally, the family of Johann Meier found a new home in this house. Originally they were from the eastern part of Bavaria.

Over the years they practised farming, and also ran a coal merchant’s in the city of Hof.

Even the world economic crisis during the twenties and the World War 2, which followed, could not damage the simple but solid walls…

The last member of the original family lived until 1981 in Eppenreuther Weg 11 - which is today's „Gallery Cottage“.
